Southern California Gas is encouraging its customers to do their part to increase their homes energy efficiency by offering a rebate on insulation. The rebate application is available online and we will be a happy to help you fill-out and apply for your rebate. These rebates are available on a limited basis and we cannot guarantee your receiving a rebate, but so far the program has been 100% solid.
A 15-cent per square-foot rebate is offered when you bring your attic up to an R-38 rating or R-19 if there is less than 24 inches of attic clearance (existing insulation must be R-11 or less). The entire attic must be done to qualify.
A 30-cent per square-foot rebate is offered for each square foot of wall you insulate. You are not required to insulate all your walls and only exterior walls qualify.

The federal government has retroactively offered an energy tax credit for insulation work completed in 2017. There is no word yet on if they will be offering it for 2018. For more information on the Non-business Energy Property Tax Credits, click here.
